I have found pricing for the 50D. On the Vistek website the 50D kit including the new 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 lens (sweet, it was designed for the 50D) is going for $2049.00. I wasn't far off on that one. Then of course you need the $329.95 battery grip. What good is 1 battery when you can have 2.
I need $2500.00. Who can spot me that? I'll pay you back in a year, I promise. I'll even give you a post dated cheque.

Rumor of the Canon 5D M2
I've heard rumor of an up coming version of the Canon 5D. Here's the link to the article.
http://www.canonrumors.com/index.php?entry=entry080827-094825
Here is a list of what it is boasting.
21.1 MP 1.0x
DIGIC IV
ISO 100-6400 L:50 & H:12800
5 FPS
3.2" High Resolution Screen (LCD)
19 point AF
HDMI Out
Liveview
HD Movie Mode
Viewfinder: 100% Coverage
Full weather sealing
EF Lenses only
I must admit, I've never used the 5D so I'm not sure what it's like compared to the crop sensor models. Perhaps I'll have to get my hands on one and review it.

Got A Wireless Transmitter
I'm pretty excited. I just got my new wireless transmitter! I didn't go for one of those $200.00 or $300.00 models. I purchased a $24.95 unit from Gadget Infinity out of Hong Kong. I know what you are thinking but this is a sweet unit. It came highly recommended by Chris Marquardt of my favorite podcast Tips From The Top Floor.
I bought the lowest end model they had. I wanted to see if that one would work. The range is 30 meters although they have one that boasts up to 100 meters. I just wanted it for those intimate group shots in which I'm sure I'll not be more than 10 meters away from the camera.
Here is a couple of shots I took with the unit.

18mm, ISO 100, f/3.5 for 1/50 sec.

20mm, ISO 100, f/3.5 for 1/80 sec.
I like the resulting photos. Not bad for me not being behind the camera. I set the zoom, ISO and aperture then let the camera pick it's shutter speed. It's a little under exposed but hey, I can fix that and I was not too concerned for this test.
Here is a picture of the transmitter and receiver.

It's a nice small unit about the size of a car stater remote. The only down side to it is the receiver unit just hangs from the camera. Not a major issue. It's light. I'll post some more shots as I do more testing with it.
Chris.
