Looking through the bottom of the jib section of our 50 ton crane. This section swings out and attaches to the end of the boom to give a bit extra reach.

I'm always fascinated by the tubular reinforcements.

Managed to take some shots of my skating superstar during his lessons. None of the other parents seemed to mind my big camera and me snapping shots towards their kids. Of course I waited until he was all alone to take the shots.

I drive past this little duck pond every day on my way to and from work. There has been a family of 6 ducks here all summer. I keep meaning to walk down to this pond and take some photos but never get around to it. Today I made it over there only to find just one lonely duck left.

Well my feathered friend, it's just you and me now. Maybe I'll bring a bit of bread for you tomorrow and we can start our friendship on the right foot. Maybe next spring you'll come back to see me.

In this day and age of high tech gadgets and computers needed to repair your car, it's nice to see somethings can still be done low tech. Most people wouldn't consider a fish scale a tool but it does a great job measuring tension.

We had 2 birthday parties for my Son on Saturday. One for his school friends were we brought in a company that brings some exotic animals and teaches the kids about them. They have the opportunity to hold each one. They loved it.
Later that evening we had family over for some cake and laughs.

His actual birthday is the 20th but that's Monday.

Low Carbing It Again.

No, this has nothing to do with photography. Not directly anyway. I just wanted to tell you all that I'm back on my low carb diet. I was doing so good last time but fell off the wagon during a family vacation and never got back on it.

Anyway, I'm blogging about it here, in hopes it will help me be more accountable to myself. After all, if everyone knows about it, I can't just quietly quit. :)

This will be our last weekend at the lake for the year.

We will send it out with a bang.

Some simple Roman Candles (in the middle) and the 2 cakes on the outsides. The cakes send up a variety of shots 21 high shooting stars in the Jail Bird and 25 in the Mushroom Cloud. The guy at the store said these are the 2 most popular cakes.

I hope to be able to light them up and still get to the camera in tim for some good photos....Not likely. Perhaps my dad will light them for us.

Geese On The Fly And Ducks Swimming By.....

My daughter and I went for a walk around the area last night. We stopped by the local ponds to see the birds. Ducks and Canada Geese, even a young beaver of all things! Right in town, a beaver. I just had to take some photos and I just have to share them with you.

Nothing better than going for a walk with the kids.
