301.365 Exercise In Futility.

301.365 Exersise In Futility.

Thursday October 28 2010.

I love watching useless activity. Unless this is just practice for the driver, working on this road while it's raining in pretty much useless.

This road in front of my work is one of the last gravel roads in Edmonton. They just want too much in taxes to rip it out and put in a proper road. So, it falls apart in a matter of days and they have to come smooth it out again. Problem is that they will wait until it's raining before they come out and do it. So, in 2 hours all the truck traffic here will turn this road back into the washboard it was this morning before this guy showed up to "practice".

My tax dollars hard at work.

Tuesday October 26 2010.

Continuing with my product photography theme. I chose this nice shiny fuel filter. I see these things day after day but never on the fridge panel!

This is on my table in my office with just window light and some white paper for some fill. I should send it to the manufacturer to see if they want to use it. LOL.

Friday October 22 2010.

I took the day off work today and I got to walk the little man to the bus stop this morning. Ah, such fun those little things. It put a big smile on his face as you can see. He was quite excited for me to take him to the bus.

I think she was playing in the water not washing her hands.

She was just getting ready for bed and I realized I needed a photo of the day. Notice the orange pop mustache. LOL. That will take days to wear off. :)

292.365 More Fire In The Sky

Tuesday October 19 2010.

It's funny, once people know you are a photographer and you always have your gear with you, they go out of their way to let you know when some great photo op is just waiting for you.

One of my guys sent me an email this morning telling me to run to the east side of the building and take my camera.

This is what greeted me when I got there.

Thanks Morris. What a great way to start the day.

Monday October 18 2010.

This is the "Are You Gone Yet?" look I get when I'm trying to take a photo of the girl these days.

I was just trying to take a nice photo of her watching a movie and she covered her face telling me to go away! So I pretended to put my camera down and when she moved her hand to have a peak, I snapped of a quick frame.

Gotcha Sweet Pea.

Sunday October 17 2010.

This is a great case for going wireless. I have to untangle these every time I need one of them. Either I put them in little baggies or I go wireless. I vote for wireless but my wallet votes for baggies!!! LOL!

Put some new strings on the acoustic a while ago. They still sound weird. I shouldn't have bought the light strings. Ah, well, I still like to play anyway.

The Best Part Of Living In Alberta, Light Wise.

The Best Part Of Living In Alberta, Light Wise.

The best part of living in Alberta, light wise, is the fact that the sun at high noon is still low in the sky for most of the year. Sure, in June, July, August and most of September it's pretty high but the rest of the year it's pretty low in the sky giving us much less harshness to the light.

I shot this at high noon on the roof at work. Look at the long shadow next to my wrench dude. And the shadows are not as harsh as they were back in July when I was outside. I love spring and fall.

Our receptionist is a holiday nut! Every holiday that comes around is a visual treat in our reception area. Halloween is no exception.

This is one of the lights she has strung across the front of her desk! I can't wait until she has the place all decked out!

Monday October 11 2010.

I made myself a low carb crustless pumpkin pie. No sugar, no flour, nothing to wreck my diet.

Even my kids said it was delicious! And they won't lie to spare my feelings. LOL.

More from the Things On My Desk series. These are the only ones that fit over my glasses. They look dorky and I get teased plenty but they have saved my eyes on more than one occasion.
