In The Rain

 

I'm trying harder this year to make the most of the unusual amount of rain we have had this summer. All one needs is an umbrella to keep the rain off your camera and away you go.

Every so often I go for a walk at lunch time. It's a nice break from work. Just down the road is a duck pond. There are always a couple of ducks there to entertain me.

The Canada Geese are back! Sure they crap everywhere but they are such a beautiful bird. This one was checking things out from atop our storage racks at work.

Our first real snow storm of the season. It's been coming down since about 7am. Not too hard but enough to start piling up in little drifts from the wind.

This is about a foot deep so far.

It's that time of year where the air cools so quickly during the night. The lake still holds the day's heat and gives us this great mist. If you get up early enough to see it.

The craziest storm crossed the far side of the lake. In the setting sun the slowly spinning lead edge took on an surreal glow as the storm passed by.

We had some very cool stormy clouds that really screamed HDR to me. The detail in the clouds and the stones on the road just popped in the processed image.

Sometimes it's nice to have a rainy day at the lake. We can just sit in my in-law's cottage and watch the rain come down.

I was really captured by the rain hitting the top of this table. I must have sat there watching it for an hour. I'm glad I was able to capture the streaking rain drops and the resulting splashes.

We have a nest of crows on the lot. Here is the last one to leave the nest. He's not quite flying just yet but the next day he was gone from this tree.

I'm literally at arms length from this little one. It even let me pet it. That was a bit odd. Also, I never new the little ones had such blue eyes!

Picked up a hitch hiker while out on a quad ride with the boy. This creepy crawly was riding on my sweater.
